Become a Global Connector: Apply to volunteer with Global Connections here. We are working to restart refugee resettlement in Wilmington by January 2022 at the latest. Because of the crisis in Syria, Wilmington will possibly resettle Afghan refugees as early as September 2021. Please consider volunteering to support our efforts to welcome Afghan refugees in Wilmington.
If you have a team of 4 or more people from a local organization, employer or church group, please submit an application to form a Welcome Team . A Welcome Team is placed with a refugee family to support their resettlement.

Volunteer Work Days Global Connections has drop-in volunteer work hours available each month. Please check our Facebook calendar for upcoming opportunities. We welcome all volunteers, including children old enough to assist their parent with organizing/sorting donations, to stop by and help support our efforts.
Event Planning: As a grassroots nonprofit organization, we appreciate community support and networking to host local event to raise awareness and support for refugee resettlement.
(Examples of other opportunities that pop up: moving refugees into new housing, citizenship support, employment and other enrichment activities.)
